November 2nd! It’s iPad Mini release day here in the UK. I’ve just brought one home from our local store. It’s 32GB Black iPad Mini. So briefly, let’s take a look…
The usual Apple Boxing is present, except this time it’s obviously not iPad size…it’s Mini-er. It is literally, the Device, the USB Lightning cable, the Power adaptor and the instruction manual.
It looks great, and personally to me the “old” iPad seems too large, it gets heavy when you hold it for too long (lying down for example) the iPad mini however feels so light, and in fact is one of the thinest Apple products currently available, Thinner than the latest iPhone, the iPhone 5!
It does “fit in your hand” But using it with one hand is a bit impossible.
First impressions, It does everything iPad does but fits in your hand more comfortably, feels much lighter and you don’t loose much on the screen at the same time. It isn’t retina, but you don’t notice as much as the pixels are shrunk down to fit the smaller screen.
So for me just the fact I can read a book much more comfoprtably, carry it much more comfortably and also get the benefits of a sleeker looking form factor, it’s a great device!
Oh and obviously, it’s cheaper!
I will review the device in detail as soon as i’ve given it a good test.

Hi guys, Marlon and Alex here…
we wanted to let you now how grateful we are for all the support we have received in the last 2 and a half years of podcasting. We have had a great audience to keep us in, hopefully, the right track.
Even though are listeners seem to stick around and become loyal subscribers, we feel that the Talking Apple podcast can become even better.
